Position 

Magine Pro is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with a background in test automation, Agile testing, and high-quality releases.

This role is crucial in scaling automation, optimizing quality processes, and enabling efficient, high-confidence releases through advanced test automation, CI/CD integration, and proactive test strategy leadership.

Your role:

• Lead implementation of scalable test automation solutions for mobile, TV, and backend services.
• Work alongside engineering teams to embed testing earlier in development (Shift Left) and improve testability.
• Automate end-to-end testing for our subscription and billing platform, ensuring robust payment processing and entitlement validation.
•  Reduce manual testing efforts through cloud-based device farms (AWS Device Farm, Firebase Test Lab, BrowserStack) to efficiently scale across multiple configurations.
•  Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI) to support fast and confident releases.
• Promote agile testing principles, ensuring unit, integration, UI, and exploratory testing are effectively utilized across teams.
•  Ensure automation frameworks are accessible and easy to extend, allowing team members to troubleshoot tests and contribute to automation.
• Contribute to automated/synthetic monitoring, particularly using Datadog to track system health, performance, and alerting.

Where:

Experience:

• Proven expertise in automated testing for web & mobile applications, using Appium, Espresso, XCTest, Detox or similar.
• Strong API test automation skills (e.g. Postman/Insomnia, Charles-proxy)
• Experience with subscription-based platforms and payment processing testing.
• Proficiency in CI/CD test integration (GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
• Familiarity with device farms (AWS Device Farm, Firebase Test Lab, Sauce Labs, BrowserStack) for scaling mobile testing.
• Understanding of backend testing (microservices, billing, authentication, entitlements).
• Experience with Datadog for synthetic/automated monitoring.
• Experience working in a B2B SaaS or streaming environment.
  

The following knowledge will be seen as a bonus (if not, don't worry, if you're a fast learner, you'll be fine):

• Experience with Bash/Zsh/Fish/Nushell shell scripting.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Experience working with Docker and containerization.
• Experience reading and writing functional programming code (we use Scala).
• AI-powered testing tools like Testim, Mabl, Applitools, Katalon.
• Performance testing experience with k6, Gatling, Artillery.
• Video delivery technology (Encode, Transcode, Storage, DRM, Player Tech).
• Experience with contract testing (e.g Pact, Spring Cloud Contract).
• Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, cloud-native testing strategies.
